  • Location:  228 North 9th Ave., Greeley (between B & C Streets)

  • Store Hours: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.   
    Sometimes open other days including Saturday.  Call to make sure.

  • Volunteers:  The Clothing Bank is staffed entirely by volunteers.  To offer your help, contact or the Clothing Bank Coordinator in your faith community or Rick Mawson at (970)371-2230 
     
  • Donations: The Clothing Bank only welcomes good reusable CLOTHING donations.  Donation recepts are available for tax deduction purposes.  Donations are recieved at the store during store hours. 

  • Services to needy families: 
  • Clothing items are sold to the public at exceptionally low prices. 
    Vouchers are also available from United Way 211, Catholic Charities, the Salvation Army and other social service agencies to proivde limited amounts of clothing at no-cost to theirclient families.   .

GIA Layette Program

  • During 2010, 238 layettes were assembled from donated items and distributed
  •    to agencies to give to low income families with newborns.
    Agencies who have received layettes include:
  •    - United Way - Bright Beginnings
       - Monfort Sunrise Clinic - WIC
       - Monfort Children's Clinic
       - First Steps
       - Room at the Inn
       - A Woman's Place
       - Greeley Transitional House
       - Pregnancy Resource Center
       - Genny's Hope (foster care)
       - Greeley for God
       - Wesleyan Community Outreach Center
       - Lutheran Family Services
    Items in a layette are new or gently used
  •    for ages new born to 1 year
    Included items are:
  •    - a crib blanket
       - 2 receiving blankets
       - disposable diapers (14 or so)
            (or cloth with pins & vinyl pants)
       - 2 onesies or undershirts
       - 2 sleepers
       - 2 outfits
       - 2 bottles
    Miscellaneous extras insluded if available
       - hats or caps
       - socks or booties
       - sweaters or jackets
       - bibs
       - crib sheets
       - etc.

GIA March 2010 Grants

  • Frente:  Funds will be used to cover monthly expensed for two months of utilities, phone, e-mail, trash, gas, auto and petty cash.  This will help the Latino population that has been affected by immigration raids of 2006 as well as other community members in need.                   $800
     
  • CARE:   To provide prevention and intervention services to at least 10 families in crisis through c.a.r.e.’s Nurturing Parenting Program, the accompanying Children’s Program and the Supervised Visitation Program                                                                                  $500
  • Catholic Charities:  Rental and utility assistance for low income individuals and families at risk of homelessness.                $1000.  
  • Greeley Transitional House:  Emergency shelter for homeless families.                                                                                $1000
     
  • Drive Smart:  Educational program to improve traffic safety in Weld county $500 for printing educational packets for 9th and 10th graders  and or $300 for scholarship.  Suggested  $500 because it would help more individuals than the scholarship.                              $500
  • Room at the Inn:  Help homeless families and children to meet immediate needs by providing food, shelter and friendship.  The overall objective is to help at least 87% of families secure long term permanenthousing and eventually support families to self sufficiency.                   $1500

  • A Kids Place:  Printing of marketing and promotional  materials, brochures, stationary etc to recruit CASA volunteers and share agency brochures with Law Enforcement to give families when  they have to bring child in for a forensic interview.    This helps abused and neglected children                                                                      $1000
  • First United Methodist Church:  Workbooks for English language instruction.                                                                   $400
     
  • Lighthouse Mission:  Food assistance especially milk, eggs fresh produce for individuals and families who come to them for assistance.  They serve single parents, the disabled, unemployed, and  under-employed; immigrants the elderly and migrant workers. April-June 2010                                                                          $1500
  • Yarn for Layette program:  To be used making baby blankets, sweaters, hats and booties  for families  in financial need.      $300
